He will sustain you

My Thoughts on my Desktop Calendar Promise (26 May 2021)

Out of habit, when I get up in the morning, I change my desktop calendar page and read the Bible Verse there.

On most of the days, I would have just read it and not give it a second thought.

Based on my life situation, today's words lingered on my mind a little longer. The phrase "He will sustain you" was the one that caught extra attention.

After my wife's passing away, in the initial days one of the thoughts that crossed my mind many times was "who will now arrange for my daily bread" as I always depended on her for many daily requirements.

After some initial transitions, one month after her passing away my life has almost settled down to what it was before she passed away.

When I think a little deep, I know that it was The LORD who sustained our family for more than 42 years after marriage. He has been good to us all these years.

As a whole family, He has kept us healthy and disease-free until this "china virus" somehow intruded into our family and got my wife.

Even in her death, I find the LORD sustained me. When my son took my wife to the hospital, she on her own came out of the house and got into the ambulance stretcher. That night around 11 pm I was woken and informed that it was now late and that she had already gone away around 10 pm.

As I was groggy from the sleep it took me some time to realize the impact of what I heard and did not have any reaction.

The local Church pastor had made the arrangements for her burial the next day. Because of the covering, she was wearing I could not even make out the outline of her body to know for sure that it was she.

A certain peace is in my heart knowing that except for the last 2-3 days she never had any difficulties and went away peacefully.

I know that in my inner man at least I have always been aware that it was the LORD that cares for me. This verse reassures me that as long as I keep casting my cares on the LORD He will continue to sustain me and my family. His words "He will never let the righteous be shaken" have always true in our family life.

Thanks for patiently reading

Yes, dear brother! As we are not conscious always about the role of the brain and heart in sustaining our physical existence, so we are about Our Lord's covering over our lives and families. This separation is just temporary and we will be together with our beloved for eternity. This is the hope we have in Christ. May God be gracious to keep you in His love and the hope of glory.
